The Late Charles Hammond started the business in a tin shed not long after the war; when Melbourne was faced with a shortage in building materials. From these early days of rolling corrugated iron with ingenious methods the companys philosophy has always been to supply a quality product for a competitive price. The original tin shed located in Napoleon Street, Collingwood has long gone, replaced with seven large conveniently located stores in Sunshine, Preston, Dromana, Pakenham, Coldstream, Darnum and Notting Hill which is also the companys head office. All of these stores are able to service the trade and retail customer and offer a next day delivery service for all stock items, anywhere in Melbourne/ Metro areas. Expansion over the years has led to Robot Building Supplies selling a wide range of metal roofing, cladding, wall paneling, flat board products, structural steel, fibreglass and polycarb sheeting, insulation, timber, rural fencing and rainwater goods.
