Viamar is a Belgium marine consultancy company that was founded in 1965 by our Managing director Pieter Van Robaeys. Viamar specialise in assisting ship owners with new construction design, specification, contracting, plan approval and shipyard supervision but also can provide assistance for vessel modifications and superintendents for ship repair, dry dockings and for emergency repairs. For new construction projects we can offer a partial or complete management package. A complete package would include tendering, selection of and negotiation with shipyards for contract and building specification formulation, followed by plan approval and building supervision. Plan approval is carried out by senior naval architects and marine engineering specialists, each with decades of knowledge and experience gained at shipyards and with shipping companies. For building supervision we employ supervisors we have worked with for many years, complemented, where necessary, with others from our supervisor database of over 500 fully qualified and experienced marine engineers, naval architects, electrical engineers and paint and coating specialists. Therefore we are in a position to offer you a full or partial supervision site team having a composition, nationality and speciality level exactly suited to your budget and requirement.
