Veterinary Benevolent Fund Information

The Veterinary Benevolent Fund is a registered charity which has been supporting the veterinary profession for over a hundred years. As well as providing financial assistance through a benevolent fund it also provides a network of other support services which includes the Veterinary Surgeons’ Health Support Programme, the Vet Helpline and the Vetlife website. Suicide is four times more common among vets than the general population, and for a variety of reasons it can be very hard for vets who are struggling to access support. The work of the VBF can help families to survive financially when they run into unexpected difficulties, to get professional advice and treatment for mental health and addictive disorders, either for themselves or their colleagues, and to get back to work if that is what they want.
