Established in 1994, VHIA (Victorian Hospitals' Industrial Association) is a nationally registered not for profit organisation representing metropolitan, regional, rural and community health services. In addition, VHIA serves public and private employers in Aged care, Disability, Women's health, GP networks, Medicare Locals and other miscellaneous health related organisations such as nursing agencies. VHIA is structured in accordance with its Registered Rules as an employer association registered under the Fair Work Act. VHIA is directed by a 14 member Board of Management which includes public hospital and community health centre representatives. VHIA's purpose is to provide its members with easy and equal access to a full range of workplace relations services and proficient support from industry experts. VHIA's members have access to the expertise of industrial relations, legal, human resources and WorkCover advisors with leading edge knowledge of the health sector. VHIA's members care for people. Aims of the THA Government Policy Outcomes Membership Services Industry Representation and Development Community Awareness The Tasmanian Hospitality Association accomplishes its aims through the following: Lobbying The THA lobbies on all matters affecting the hospitality industry, including food safety, training, liquor licensing, gaming, small business, tourism, industrial relations and health, workforce development and training. The THA regularly meets with Members of Parliament and key Government representatives to consult key issues. .
