Vermont Tennis Club Information

Welcome to all Vermont Tennis Club members, players and parents. Peak Tennis Academy has officially been selected to run coaching programs at Vermont Tennis Club from 2020 and beyond! We are extremely excited about this opportunity to work with such a vibrant club and look forward to growing coaching numbers, junior competition teams and club based activities. A smooth transition is a high priority for all existing coaching students, we also envisage attracting new students to Vermont Tennis Club. Additionally, we encourage people that are contemplating returning to tennis to consider coaching and club membership. We will offer a range of classes and private lessons from next year, factoring in standards and preferences for days and times. The number one goal for Peak Tennis Academy at Vermont Tennis Club, is to provide quality tennis coaching and create a dynamic tennis community inclusive of everyone. Peak Tennis Academy will be lead by myself, Shane Farnell. I am a fully qualified Tennis Australia Coach Member with over 20 + years of coaching experience, having coached Hot Shot students learning the sport for the first time, through to professional world ranked players competing at ATP tour events and Grand Slam events. Prior to Vermont Tennis Club, I was an integral part of the Boroondara Tennis Centre with my main roles as the Academy Head Coach and Junior Competitions Co-coordinator. My coaching philosophy is to develop sound technique as this is the building block to a solid foundation. Also, to make lessons fun and enjoyable, whilst supporting students to reach their individual goals. I believe that no one within the local community should need to travel away from Vermont Tennis Club to have quality professional coaching, regardless if a beginner learning for the first time, an aspiring junior, an adult looking to improve, or even if a fully established tournament player.
