Vermont Piano Restorations was established in 1994 when Tom McNeil arrived in Barre, Vermont. It is the successor to similar piano service businesses he built in New York and Michigan beginning in 1967. We make a lot of service calls for tunings, minor repairs, and concert piano service. However, most of our work consists of major repairs and restoration projects on fine grand pianos. This work is done in our shop in Barre. We serve primarily northern and central Vermont and nearby New Hampshire. However, our restoration shop serves clients from a wider area. Visitors to the shop are always welcome. They can see a number of grand pianos in various stages of repair as well as the fascinating operations involved in restoring these instruments to their fullest potential. We'll gladly provide a nice cup of coffee or tea -- guests are invited to bring cookies or donuts! There is usually someone in the shop to give tours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There are frequent exceptions to this schedule, so it is best to call first (802) 476-7072. First-time visitors will want to call anyway for directions.
