Diversified Senior Services, Inc. focuses on the development, acquisition and management of apartments, independent living apartments with services and assisted-living residences for low- and moderate-income seniors. The Company's goal is to offer a continuum of senior living arrangements, consisting of apartments managed specifically for the housing needs of elderly persons, enhanced housing providing additional services for convenient, worry-free living and assisted-living residences when a greater level of support is necessary. The Company has focused its development efforts on 60-unit assisted-living residences and 30-unit senior housing residences. The development, acquisition and management services are performed for both related and unrelated third-party property owners. As of December 31, 2001, the Company managed 52 housing complexes in three states: North Carolina, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
