Toon van der Wal founded Van der Wal in 1924 as a taxi company. Today, the company is a full-service logistics service provider with offices in The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and the United Kingdom. Van der Wal has about 325 employees worldwide. SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT We aspire to leave the world a little better than we found it. That is why we always look for the best sustainable transport solution for our customers and the environment. We drive the cleanest equipment, and under the title Kill Empty Running, we devise smart solutions for fewer (half) empty trucks on the road. Since 2008, Van der Wal participates in the Lean & Green programme. At the beginning of 2024, we achieved the fourth Lean & Green Star for reducing 55% CO2 per loading meter. SERVICES We provide physical transport possibilities (2PL) and 3PL and 4PL activities. Our Euro 6-certified Western European fleet runs between the major industrial areas. Van der Wal has been an East specialist since 1970, organizing groupage, full truck loads (FTL), less than truck loads (LTL) and oversized shipments (ODC) to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iraq and many more Eastern countries. In 2008, we founded SmartWay Logistics to focus on all 4PL activities. Van der Wal and SmartWay Logistics operate in the same office, providing much interaction between the brands, thus ensuring an optimal exchange of knowledge and skills.
