YFU advances intercultural understanding, life-long learning, global competences, mutual respect, and social responsibility through transformational educational exchanges for generations of youth, families, and communities, supported by dedicated volunteers and professional staff. We are one of the world's oldest, largest, and most respected international educational exchange programs. We are a volunteer and staff-supported global non-profit community driven by the passion of people, consisting of 45+ Member Organizationsacross six continents. As a leader in intercultural exchange and educational programs since 1951, we have impacted more than 270.000 students – and their host families, schools and networks – and engaged more than 70.000 volunteers. Through the exchange experience, our students gain skills and perspectives necessary to meet the challenges of and benefit from the opportunities the fast-changing global community has to offer. Mindful Schools empowers educators to spark systemic change from the inside out by cultivating awareness, resilience, and compassionate action. Our vision is for all children to learn in “mindful schools” that nurture a new generation of leaders to create a more equitable and thriving world. Mindful Schools is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. We are proud to be a partner of choice for over 500 schools across the country. We’ve trained over 70,000 educators through professional development training, community resources and events, and most recently, national schoolwide mindfulness programs. Our programs are all designed by educators, for educators, with educators with deep experience bringing mindfulness to schools with an equity-centered, trauma-sensitive approach. With an expanding network of educators working to implement mindfulness, and an unwavering commitment to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work, we are uniquely poised to cultivate joyful and just learning communities, no matter what the future holds.
