Kelly Wearstler Studio is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary design practice working across hospitality, private residences, workplaces and headquarters, product design, editorial, thought leadership, creative direction, and strategic brand partnerships. For more than three decades, the studio has created work that moves between culture and commerce, art and experience, intimacy and scale, spanning hotels and restaurants, workplaces, and product collections for clients around the world. Every project begins with the particular: the place, the people, the history they carry, and the life the work is meant to hold. The studio treats each commission as its own question rather than a style to be applied, building a language of materials, proportion, light, and form that belongs to that client alone. It remains hands-on and intimately engaged throughout, moving from atmosphere to detail with rigor at every scale. The result is work that feels inevitable in its setting and singular in the world. Alongside its private residential and hospitality practice, the studio creates furniture, lighting, objects, collections, events, and brand experiences for homes and public spaces around the world. DesignByThem brings together and represents the talent of Australian designers in a playful collection of fun and functional furniture and homewares. DesignByThem was launched in 2007 by co founders Nicholas Karlovasitis and Sarah Gibson with the mission of creating an independent Australian design brand and platform for local designers to showcase their work. The collection includes designs by Nicholas and Sarah alongside the work of other great Australian designers and is designed with a sensitivity to time and the environment. The range is available to national and international specifiers and retailers along with custom and commissioned projects through the DesignByThem studio.

Recent projects include a Newport estate, homes in Connecticut and the Hamptons, a West Village townhouse, Soho offices for a film company, and a classic Brooklyn brownstone.
