The Creative Computing Technologies (CCT) Research Group is a multidisciplinary group part of the Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Communications and Networks (AVCN) Research Institute at the University of the West of Scotland. UWS CCT aims to advance and understand the technical application of creative computing technologies and virtual environments outside the entertainement industry to address local and global societal and industrial challenges in a range of aspects including, but not limited to education and training, cultural heritage, entertainment, e-sports, and health and wellbeing. We support businesses digital transformation and adoption of emerging technologies, such as virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, computer graphics visualizations, serious games, and generative AI. We collaborate with businesses through public funding such as Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), Innovation Vouchers, Innovation Catalysts, and Accelerated Knowledge Transfers to Innovate. UWS CCT is the hub of expertise in Computer Animation, 3D Modelling, Computer Games Development, High-Power Computing, Extended Realities, Immersive Audio and Music Technologies at UWS. Areas where staff are active include: Extended Realities (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality), web and mobile app development, 3D modelling and animation, 3D scanning and reconstructions, computer games development, Immersive audio and auditory interfaces for location based services.
