USIC is a closed-end, non-diversified private investment company. USIC focuses on middle market companies for debt or equity investments mainly in the alternative energy sector. USIC invests in complementary companies along their industry value chain. USIC net assets were $69.8 million as of December 31 2011. Since formation in 2005 in Wyoming, USIC has invested more than $85 million in the Photovoltaic and Energy Conversion Industry, EPC Service companies, Power Generating Industry, Photonics and Laser Equipment Industry, and real estate and tax equity. Having access to the vertically integrated Solar Power Generation market, USIC provides value added construction project financing to installers, EPC companies and developers of renewable energy projects. Our portfolio is a composite of entities, mainly consisting of complementary companies in which we have controlling interests, and developing companies.
