The U.S. Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project (USDDPP) is an independent team of scientists and energy analysts working to enable policy consensus regarding the technology, timing, and infrastructure changes required to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions to at least 80% below 1990 levels by 2050 in support of the international effort to limit anthropogenic global warming to 2°C. Using sophisticated, open-source energy system modeling technology, USDDPP creates technically and financially feasible “pathways” – detailed, sector-by-sector, year-by-year blueprints to guide our transition to a low carbon energy system. USDDPP’s modeling and analysis provide a broad group of stakeholders (national and subnational governments; labor, business and investors; academics and NGOs) with a transparent analytical tool and highly detailed data capable of supporting the development and implementation of consensus goals, guidance, and regulations designed to achieve economy-wide deep decarbonization.
