UroBriz is a specialist urology clinic with state of the art surgical treatment for prostate cancer and other urological malignancies. Under Dr. Kua, UroBriz is one of the leading centres for robotic and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and renal surgery. Dr. Kua is a pioneer of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in Queensland. He was the first urological surgeon to have successfully performed the procedure in Queensland. To date he has performed over 500 cases of laparoscopic, robotic and open prostate and kidney surgery. Additionally, Dr. Kua is a regular mentor, to other urologists and trainees learning laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and nephrectomy. Recently, The Wesley Hospital has acquired the "da Vinci S" robot to complement its existing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy program. The Wesley Hospital was the first private hospital in Australia to invest in the new "da Vinci S" System. The "da Vinci S" System offers vastly improved vision with a three-dimensional high definition system and has more refined ergonomics and instrumentation, including an additional robotic arm compared to the standard system. Dr. Kua has undergone robotic training course at the leading training centre at the Global Robotics Institute, Florida. He has also been mentored by leading Australian robotic surgeons. Dr. Kua has performed robotic radical prostatectomies at The Wesley Hospital, using the "da Vinci S" System. He is one of the few urological surgeons accredited to perform robotic surgery at The Wesley Hospital. Dr. Kua is a member of The Wesley Hospital Medical Advisory committee and played a significant role in the introduction of robotic surgery at The Wesley Hospital. UroBriz offers comprehensive prostate cancer treatment services including High Dose Rate and Low Dose Rate Brachytherapy in conjunction with Premion Cancer Centre at The Wesley Hospital campus.
