The Joy of Sharing Fun began in 1984 A company that is all about making life fun, URC Snack Foods (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a multinational company and subsidiary of JG Summit Holdings, Inc. in the Philippines, was incorporated in Malaysia as Pacific World Sdn. Bhd. on 10th November 1982 and commenced operations in 1984. On 1st March 2001, Pacific World changed its name to URC Snack Foods (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (URC). Producing Packs of Enjoyment Our Company’s principal activity is in the manufacturing and sales of Jack ‘n Jill fun snacks, chocolates, biscuits, candies and wafers. We have a manufacturing facility located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, and a Sales and Marketing office in Shah Alam, Selangor. Delighting Malaysian Snack Lovers URC traces its roots back to the Philippines in 1952, when Mr. John Gokongwei, Jr. first started out as a trader. From milling and producing glucose and corn starch, Mr. John was constantly eyeing the future and thus began producing his own branded consumer foods. His vision of delighting consumers led to the creation of one of the biggest snack food companies in the Philippines, with an extensive and diversified portfolio. He continued bringing his vision to life outside of the Philippines as URC brands made its way into homes all over the world, with a strong presence in markets like Thailand, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore, among others. In Malaysia, our brands include household names such as Jack ‘n Jill Potato Chips, Cream-O, Cloud 9, NIPS, Roller Coaster and more. Our brands have touched Malaysians’ lives through the years and continue to reflect Mr. John’s founding commitment to offer the best in quality, value, convenience and snacking enjoyment for every fun occasion.
