In recent times UGA has been the principle contractor to ATCO Gas and have managed and constructed new connections in the North Metropolitan area and completed all major replacement projects. In late 2015, UGA renewed their contract with ATCO Gas and extended the service region by taking on the Southern Metropolitan area - new connections and replacement works as well as maintenance and network operations. As part of this contract, UGA also secured the Regional areas including but not limited to, Albany, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie and Geraldton. They are also the key contractor for Telstra undertaking all network maintenance and upgrade works. Other key utility infrastructure projects include the Vodafone ‘Black Spot’ project, Telstra’s enhancement project of St Georges Terrace’s heritage landscape ahead of the G20 Summit in Perth, and the Optus Perth reinforcement fibre (ring).
