UrbanBoost Information

The specialism of UrbanBoost is to (re)develop areas by building and develop - online and offline -communities. By using Placemaking and the knowledge and whishes of the stakeholders (residents, entrepreneurs, civil servants, etc) The first project of UrbanBoost started in the Amsterdam neighbourhood Bos en Lommer (BoLo) with starting the community Boloboost in 2011. The goal of this succesfull initiative was to show the people a realistic view on the neighbourhood instead of the negative image people had of it. UrbanBoost combines over 20 years of knowledge, experience and passion in the fields of international spatial information and communication/community building (communnitycation). With UrbanBoost we like to surprise and communicate in an unusual way by using the (social) media, but also with some remarkable interventions in the public space. UrbanBoost has been honored twice (2014 & 2016) with the Welcom Amsterdam Communication Award for using this communication strategy.
