Sharefest gives youth facing significant barriers the skills, support, and connections they need to achieve economic success. Throughout LAUSD students on the verge of dropping out find themselves on the fringe of the education system. Since 2009 Sharefest has been the only community-based organization consistently working inside schools with youth who are under-served, under-resourced AND underestimated. Sharefest empowers them with life skills and professional development and helps them build a pathway to a life-changing career. Sharefest pours more resources into each student than schools and other organizations can. Following a student from high school into college or the workforce is simply the most effective way for youth to achieve economic mobility and success.

We are a nonprofit, youth driven, outreach organization based in Northern California. We create opportunities for youth to identify areas of need in their communities where they can make a difference and have a positive impact. We aim to cultivate the next generation of socially responsible citizens. To empower youth to make a positive difference in the world around them through Exploration, Action and Leadership. We are led by a Youth Board who is mentored by a Parent Advisory Council. Our primary objective is to show and teach youth how they can make a difference in their communities. Because our programs include both service and service learning, we give youth of all ages the power to decide their level of involvement, from hands-on community service, joining a school club or team or lead a committee. All of which they will have eye-openning experiences that inspire compassion and strengthen life skills. We are driven by the interest and focus of youth involved. All projects serve those in a special needs category - homeless, low income, trafficked, bullied, military, victims of a natrural disaster, etc. Our focus is within El Dorado and Sacramento Counties.
