Upswing Information

Upswing is a contemporary circus company telling new stories in extraordinary ways. Founded in 2006 by Vicki Dela Amedume, we are the UK's only female, Black-led organisation of our kind. We make productions, develop artists and run community programmes across Stoke-on-Trent and beyond - with work that's travelled across the UK and as far as Hong Kong, Berlin and New York's Broadway. We use circus and storytelling to spark imagination, build trust and start conversations. Upswing is a registered charity. We are a National Portfolio Organisation receiving support from Arts Council England.
