The Cape Cod Baseball League is a premier collegiate summer league on the Cape. Founded in 1885 as a group of town teams, the league became the top college summer league after joining with the NCAA in 1964. Today, college players from all over the country showcase their talent across the ten fields on the Cape for eight weeks every summer before moving back to college or, sometimes, major league contracts. A non-profit run by dedicated volunteers, the league provides quality family entertainment free of charge.
The Falmouth Commodores is one of ten teams that make up the Cape Cod Baseball League. This is the premier college baseball league in the country, where approximately 35% of its players will play at the major-league level and approximately 70% will get drafted at some point. This team is run by volunteers and is 100% funded by private and corporate donations.
