UPPACT develops facilities to process unrecycled plastic and textile waste into robust, recyclable and high quality construction materials. The first test & demo factory has been set up in 2022 at Bek & Verburg in the Eemshaven in Groningen (Netherlands). Here we test the various difficult to recycle and unrecycled plastic and textile waste streams in the UnWastor, the Plastech Mixer-Melter enabling to process these difficult-to-recycle and often mixed plastic & textile waste streams into a homogeneous and consistent new material with which we can make high-quality, robust and 100% recyclable planks, poles and beams. UPPACT's next step is to set up a first DEMO-factory in Farmsum , where up-scaled production will take place. The aim is to process up to 4 million kilo's of plastic and textile waste per year in UPPACT I (the DEMO-factory) before establishing our 1st regional Flagship Factory in The Netherlands with a capacity of 10-15 kTpa. Funding for the DEMO factory has been successful and UPPACT is setting up the DEMO factory in the Chemport Innovation Center in Farmsum. The factory will start operating in July/Aug 2025.
