🌐 Unveiling a New Era of Clinical AI 🚀 At UpDoc, we are redefining Clinical AI: from software that informs clinicians to software that can perform clinical actions historically carried out by licensed clinicians, like physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. We are pioneering a new care delivery model built around this capability: Remote Patient Intervention (RPI), defined as Clinical AI acting on Remote Patient Monitoring data to deliver clinical care. RPI was first conducted in patients in a Stanford clinical trial published in JAMA Network Open, where the term was coined. Through RPI, our goal is to transform how care is delivered by accompanying traditional clinical visits with physician-supervised “AI encounters” between visits. Rather than simply making clinicians more efficient, Clinical AI can expand the capacity of the healthcare system to deliver more frequent, proactive, and continuous care while keeping physicians at the center of the patient's care. In the Stanford MIVA Trial, RPI enabled 5X more clinical care delivery with the same labor, while improving medication adherence by 65% and accelerating chronic disease control by 3X. Our vision is a healthcare system where Clinical AI does not just assist with care. It helps deliver it.
