The Institute for Environment & Human Security (UNU-EHS) is a UN think-tank carrying out cutting-edge research on risks and adaptation related to environmental hazards and global change. The Institute’s research promotes policies and programmes to reduce these risks, while taking into account the interplay between environmental and societal factors. The Institute is located in Bonn, Germany. Our research areas include: - Climate change adaptation, including insurance-related approaches - Environmentally induced migration and social vulnerability - Ecosystem services and environmental deterioration - Analytical tools and models to help understand vulnerability and risks linked to natural hazards. We are also actively engaged in education. UNU-EHS offers a joint masters of science degree with the University of Bonn, titled in the Geography of Environmental Risks and Human Security.
