UNSW Hyperloop is a team of undergraduate engineering students from the University of New South Wales aspiring to innovate the future of high speed travel. As described by Elon Musk, the concept of Hyperloop explores the potential for pressurised vehicles moving through vacuum tubes to travel at speeds twice of that of planes with the added benefit of lower fuel consumption and increased safety. The SpaceX Hyperloop Competition has provided a platform for universities, academics and students to substantiate the Hyperloop concept by prototyping new ideas that may one day be used in a full-scale Hyperloop initiative. The 2019 edition of the competition places emphasis on student teams, with the sole criteria of reaching a maximum speed with successful deceleration. This provides us with an exceptional platform in which to test our engineering skills and to develop our abilities throughout our engineering program. Follow us here and come along on our journey as we take our first steps to pioneer the future of transport.
