The University of Oslo (UiO) is internationally ranked as Norway´s leading university, having made and continues to make significant contributions to Norwegian research, innovation and education. UiO is a leading European university and the oldest university in Norway. The university has over 27 000 students and 7000 employees. It consists of eight faculties that conduct research and offer education in theology, law, medicine, humanities, mathematics and Natural sciences, dentistry, social sciences, and education.

Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) er Norges største mediebedrift. NRK er en offentlig eid, lisensfinansiert allmennkringkaster. NRK byr på et bredt medietilbud med tre tv-kanaler, 16 radiokanaler og nettstedet NRK.no. Som offentlig eid kringkastingsselskap har NRK i oppgave å lage et bredt og vidt medietilbud for alle som bor i Norge tuftet på norsk språk og kultur. Totalt arbeider ca. 3 500 i NRK, rundt 2 000 ved hovedkontoret på Marienlyst i Oslo, mens de øvrige 1500 er fordelt på store og små NRK-avdelinger landet rundt. NRK sysselsetter en rekke yrkesgrupper. Journalister er den største gruppen, men det finnes også en rekke programingeniør- og tekniske jobber såvel som en rekke IT-jobber.
