The University Eye Clinic of Bochum covers the full spectrum of ophthalmologic surgeries: cataract surgeries, Refractive Surgery such as LASIK procedures and phakic IOL implantations, glaucoma operations, corneal transplants and pars plana vitrectomies. Each year more than 4500 eye surgeries are performed. Professor Burkhard Dick (MD, PhD) is the Chairman and Head of the University Eye Clinic Bochum in Germany. He teaches, instructs, and educates young ophthalmic surgeons in cataract and refractive procedures as well as in glaucoma, keratoplasty and retinal surgeries. The University Eye Clinic of Bochum serves as a reference center for Femtosecond Cataract Surgery, Intraocular Lenses and new developments in the treatment of presbyopia. Especially for the late achievements in Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery the University Eye Clinic received a number of international awards such as the Waring Medal in 2014 and the Visionary Award of AECOS in 2015.
