United Cold Storage Information

United Cold Storage (UCS) is a public refigerated warehouse with more than a million cubic feet of frozen, refrigerated and dry space. UCS serves the San Francisco and Peninsula areas from its location in San Francisco's Bayview District UCS' original facility was built in 1938 as a meat packing plant and continued as such into the 1950's. The facility evolved into a public refrigerated warehouse with the decline of the meat packing industry in the area and served a variety of frozen food purveyors including being Safeway's first frozen distribution warehouse. In the mid 1990's James Morgan assumed operation of the facility. Morgan has over 40 years of refrigerated warehousing experience and continues as the owner operator of the certified organic company. UCS maintains GMP following the AIB format and is USDA and FDA approved for imports and exports. UCS now serves the local market from its new, larger location in San Francisco providing customers with fast, friendly & efficient service for a range of products including locally caught & imported seafood, fine pastries, meat & poultry and various commodities for the growing boutique food manufacturing industry.
