Tropical rainforests play a huge role in the prevention of climate change. They store vast quantiies of the world's land-based carbon, and convert vast quantities of carbon dioxide into oxygen. But it's not just tropical forest we need for a healthy planet - we need trees and greenery everywhere to store carbon, clean the atmosphere, retain water, to host biodiversity and sometimes to provide food too. And much of it is under threat. If we don't act now, we not only lose vital 'greenery machinery'​, we lose the battle with climate change. United Bank of Carbon is a not-for-profit collaboration between businesses and environmental scientists, which protects and restores forests and other greenery, through environmentally and socially-responsible partnerships with local communities.
