Until August 1st 2007 Youth Town was a part of the National Innovative Centre. When the government decided to shut this centre down Youth Town was given the opportunity to continue in a private context with an annual support from the Ministry of Education of three million Danish kroner. This led to the Youth Town Association of 2007 on August 1st 2007. So the Youth Town is still alive and constantly developing. It is with great pleasure that we welcome many new partners: The Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Integration, The Municipality of Copenhagen, The LB Foundation, and the theatre group Lopede Vega. This means that the Youth Town can offer three courses in the Citizenship House in co-operation with the Ministry of Education: In addition numerous courses will be held in the Citizenship House for student representatives and contact teachers from the municipality of Copenhagen as well as the course in co-operation with the Ministry of Integration. In the Dialog House we now have a third course on Conflict Managing: This course is financed by the LB Foundation. And finally, is a new course offered in the Town Hall of Youth Town in co-operation with Lopede Vega. The objective of Youth Town is still * to develop and offer educational courses and themes for pupils in both primary and secondary education. The courses are mainly related to vocational and social issues * to build a bridge between primary and secondary education and occupational and social life * to establish international contacts and international co-operation within the objective * to promote an understanding of essential connections between society, occupation and education This is done in a joint effort between Youth Town and private, public, and civil organizations.
