Founded 2018, Umeleon develops the multicolor Extruder (MCE). The machine itself is an external add on for FMD desktop 3D-printers and colors a single monochrome plastic string (or filament) according to the user color needs. The coloring process takes place before the actual printing process. Furthermore, the MCE is compatible with every single 3D-printers. Another advantage is that the color information can be saved directly in existing software so that users can keep using their favorite software. Beneficial’s of this technology are specially engineers, designers, artist, the plastic industry but also end users will get a direct access their customized filaments in small batches.
