The Latvian Football Federation (LFF) (Latvian: Latvijas Futbola federācija) is the governing body of football in Latvia based in the capital, Riga. It organises the Latvian football championship (Virslīga and lower leagues), Latvian Football Cup and the Latvia national football team. LFF became a member of FIFA in 1922, but following Latvia's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Latvia became independent.
The Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG) is an association unifying local and regional governments of the Republic of Latvia on the voluntary basis. It was founded on December 15, 1991. Today, in accordance with the article 96 of the "Law on Local Governments", the LALRG has the authority to represent local and regional governments in the negotiations with the Cabinet of Ministers as the LALRG associates 118 members:
all the 9 major cities,
all the 109 amalgamated municipalities (novads).

protection of local government interests.
