UK Biocentre Information

UK Biocentre provides a centre of excellence for biomedical research to the academic, pharmaceutical and biotech research community. UK Biocentre was established in 2011 to support the research community, by delivering automated biosample processing and storage developed from the renowned UK Biobank study involving 500,00 participants in the UK. UK Biocentre supports global biomedical research providing world class sample processing, storage and analysis services. UK Biocentre’s storage facility provides access to automated sample storage systems from the world’s leading automated storage system providers, in addition to conventional -20°C, -80°C and -196°C cryostorage systems, for the storage of biological fluids, tissue and compounds. Extensive sample processing robotics provide platforms to process blood and other biological fluids into their constituent parts, to desired volumes and concentrations, under environmentally controlled conditions. A wide sample analysis capability exists including high throughput nucleic acid extraction, genotyping, sequencing, biochemical assay and immunoassay.
