Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is a public utility company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda. Established on 26 March 2001 following the unbundling of the Uganda Electricity Board (UEB), UETCL is mandated to own, operate and develop the High Voltage Transmission Grid (HVTG) above 33 kilovolts (kV) and facilitate the bulk purchase and sale of electricity between power generators and distributors.
