SSI is a national not-for-profit organisation providing life-changing human and social services.
With community at the heart of everything we do, our purpose is to empower individuals, children, families and communities from diverse backgrounds and identities to fully participate in the economic, social, civic and diverse cultural life of Australia, creating a more equitable, resilient, enriched and inclusive society.
Since 2018, Queensland-based Access Community Services has been part of the SSI family. And with the opening of our Victorian office that same year, SSI now provides an extensive footprint across the eastern coast of Australia.
We realise that no one organisation can achieve social change in isolation. We partner with federal and state government departments and agencies, community-minded businesses and individuals, and we build relationships with domestic and global human-service led organisations and NFPs. We are an umbrella organisation for 15 migrant resource centres, multicultural services and specialist human-services agencies that work together on program delivery, advocacy and sector development.
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a non-profit organisation based in Victoria, Australia. We've been shaping culture since 1988.
Our purpose is to create a society where multicultural young people live a life where they are connected and can fully reach their potential.
At CMY, we find the gaps, partner with experts, model the future and deliver real outcomes. We are the shaper of systems, attitudes and behaviours that create the society we all deserve.
Through a combination of specialist support services, training and consultancy, knowledge sharing and advocacy, we are working to remove the barriers young people face as they make Australia their home.
Our activities include:
- Providing direct one-to-one support for young people with family, housing, education and employment issues.
- Delivering leadership programs that offer young people opportunities to contribute to Australian society.
- Providing training, professional development and consultancy services for organisations to work more effectively with young people.
- Building research evidence and sharing our knowledge.
- Providing evidence-based policy advice and advocacy to decision makers at local, state and national levels.
