UC Makerspace Information

UC Makerspace is a nonprofit organization on a mission to ignite innovation, fuel entrepreneurship, and bring people together through hands-on learning and shared resources. Located in the heart of Tennessee’s Upper Cumberland region, we’re building something truly special: a hybrid makerspace and community kitchen designed to empower creators of all kinds. From welding and woodworking to 3D printing, electronics, textiles, and culinary arts, we offer access to tools, training, and a community of support that helps members move from idea to execution. Whether you're prototyping a new product, launching a food business, fixing what’s broken, or just exploring your passion, UCM is your launchpad. We serve makers, doers, food entrepreneurs, educators, students, and dreamers who believe in the power of building something with their own two hands—and maybe a CNC machine or two. Our space is as much about skill-building as it is about confidence-building. It’s where business plans meet bandsaws, sourdough meets soldering, and community meets creativity. As Executive Director and Board Chair, I work alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, professionals, and partners to drive our vision forward.
