United Bulgarian Bank AD, Sofia is a joint stock company registered in Bulgaria in September 1992. In July 2000 National Bank of Greece (NBG) acquired 89.9% of the Bank’s capital and on July 20, 2004 acquired another 10%. The Bank takes deposits in local and foreign currency, trade with foreign currencies, trade with and invest in treasury bonds and other securities and perform other banking operations. The Bank is allowed to maintain its activities both locally and internationally. During the period, the Bank’s operations were conducted through a head office in Sofia and 196 branches and 33 offices throughout Bulgaria.
