When U-NET Founder and President, Anthony Ferara, established the company in 2000, he had one goal in mind: to raise the standard of excellence in office cabling-from voice, to data, to wireless. A professionally trained member of Building Industry Consulting Service International (BiCSi), Anthony knew the importance of codes and standards in Structured Cabling. He recognized that too many businesses were being cheated out of their communications network's potential for a simple reason: bad cabling because of poor workmanship. The evidence was all around: chaotic server rooms, bent and bunched-up cables behind walls and ceiling panels, cable spaghetti with no labels on connectors, and National Electrical Codes violations that cause electrical interference, compromised bandwidth, and safety hazards ... it all adds up to danger of costly damage when a network goes down. From day one, U-NET has approached each job like an artisan approaches his craft. "This might sound strange to some," Anthony Ferara often says, "but, to me, every cable drop and every server room are a work of art. I get satisfaction from turning a mess of cables into a fully optimized picture of clarity. It's how I've grown this business on referrals alone." In 2004 U-NET had the honor of participating as an Electronics & Computer Technology Department Advisory Committee Member at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (LATCC) for the curriculum that will be implemented in 2005. "Nothing pleases me more than the satisfaction I receive from sharing my ideas and techniques with students that are willing to learn and have the same drive as I do," says Anthony.
