The roots of what is now ASAS/Tysol, Inc. were established in Chicago in 1949, when the Johnson family founded Tysol. ASAS was started by Tom Ewing and son in 1980 in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1995, ASAS bought Tysol and consolidated the two businesses into a single company based in the Twin Cities.
