TypeRacer® is the world's first multi-player typing game, where people race each other by typing quotes from books, movies, and other media, right in their web browser (at typeracer.com). Launched in April of 2008, typeracer.com quickly grew into an internet sensation with over 2 million users and countless clones. After more than 8 years in business, the site keeps attracting dedicated users and keeps expanding in scope, with over 200 million races and 300 billion words typed by users, over a million lines of code written by developers, and 100,000 new races completed every day. Our primary mission is to provide a free educational recreation opportunities to everyone around the world, but we also license our technology via TypeRacer School Edition™ (typeracer.org) to schools who prefer to host a private TypeRacer environment for their students and have a custom set of educational texts to be typed.
