When I founded the company in 1998, I often get asked about the name "Two Mule Cattle Company. Being raised on a family farm, my love for animals came at an early age. Like most kids, I wanted a horse of my own and finally got a shetland pony for a pet. Years later I owned several horses, and as an investment opportunity, quarter horses for racing. After plenty of money going in..and very little money coming back, I impulsively decided to buy a team of mules just for fun! "Becky & Kate" (hence Two Mule) were my introduction into the fascinating world of these special animals. All of the horses, as well as Becky and Kate are long gone and now my pastures host Sally, Rosie, Preacher, Liz and Eeyore. After a long day, my mules are waiting at the gate when I get home and all is right with the world once again.
