Twisted Noodles was founded in Durham, North Carolina in April 2006 as a full-service restaurant. Our Executive Chef and mother, Somkid Somchai is a 35-year cooking veteran originally from Esaan prefecture in Thailand who had spent most of her life in California. Originally, we set out to do fusion Thai cooking, but, at that time, there was not any standard of the traditional Thai cooking. So, we decided that we would put the traditional home style cooking on our menu. We strive to make a difference in our surrounding communities by providing a healthy food alternative to the ordinary fast food that we all are accustomed to. With its successful launch of our first location in Durham, we opened our second location in Chapel Hill, NC in 2009. Our philosophy is simple, "We are cooking our food fresh and healthy, one dish at a time!"
