Based in Guernsey, TVI Ltd produces and markets the 'little sleepy head' baby sleep CD at http://www.littlesleepyhead.co.uk Here's the story of its development: Once apon a time, not so long ago, a little baby called George had trouble getting to sleep. In fact, the only place he would sleep was beside his Mummy’s tumble dryer. Poor George. And poor Mummy. George was stuck right in the middle of the kitchen and Mummy’s tumble dryer was running every morning, lunchtime, afternoon and night, burning half the energy of a small country. So Mummy asked her friend Stephen to make a recording of the tumble dryer to play to George in his bedroom. Stephen was an experienced sound recordist with lots of fancy microphones so the recording was really good. Now George could sleep wherever he went. In his bedroom, in the car, or even when visting his Grandparents. Soon, other Mums and Dads heard about George’s recording and wanted a copy for their own babies. So the Mums, Dads and babies all got together with a local midwife, the Princess Elizabeth hospital and friends from the National Childbirth Trust. Together, they tested many different household sounds, discovered which ones worked best and put them on a CD. They called the CD little sleepy head. And that is why, all over the UK and beyond, thousands of babies go to sleep with the little sleepy head CD and why lots of Mums and Dads have George to thank for their peaceful nights.
