New Mexico's oldest and fourth largest charter school, Turquoise Trail is among the state's finest. The student population almost perfectly reflects the demographics of The City Different itself and the teachers are as eclectic, artistic and outdoor-oriented as you can imagine. This year, amid a global pandemic, Turquoise Trail became the city's first farm-to-table public school and launched a podcast with behind-the-scenes footage of decision-making around whether and how to open or close school due to the pandemic, called "The Hypothesis". Faculty and staff include award-winning educators, artists, musicians and community leaders. Best of Santa Fe 2019, #1 ranked school in Santa Fe County, and NMPED "Spotlight School" 2019-20. New Mexico Charter School of the Year 2015.
