The TuaRes Foundation is inspired by the Latin phrase “Tua res agitur,” or “it is your cause.” In accordance with this principle, we encourage girls and young women to take responsibility for their own lives. The TuaRes Foundation’s mission is to provide vulnerable girls (low-income families, orphans, and victims of abuse) with adequate means to graduate from academic institutions with good marks in addition to the tools and knowledge to attain economic self-sufficiency and, consequently, self-development. This mission is inextricably linked to our overarching vision of a world in which girls and women can realize their full potential in societies which respect human rights and promote the participation of women in all aspects of life. The TuaRes Foundation believes that girls’ education is not only a fundamental human right, but also the most crucial vehicle needed to propel other development objectives forward. We at TuaRes are convinced that promoting the education of girls has the potential to be the most effective strategy for improving the overall well-being of families and the long-term success of developing countries. Education changes the lives of vulnerable girls as it gives them a chance to take responsibility for their future. TuaRes strives to unleash this potential by facilitating access to and quality of the education in pre-existing schools through targeted interventions. It is our goal to provide girls from low-income families, orphans and victims of abuse with necessary and adequate means to be able to successfully graduate from school.
