Established in 1941, Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and as such is a member of its Total Force. In its auxiliary role, CAP operates a fleet of 555 single-engine aircraft and 2,250 small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) and performs about 90% of all search and rescue operations within the contiguous United States as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center. Often using innovative cellphone forensics and radar analysis software, CAP was credited by the AFRCC with saving 108 lives last year. CAP’s 56,000 members also perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. As a nonprofit organization, CAP plays a leading role in aerospace education using national academic standards-based STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education resources. Members also serve as mentors to over 23,000 young people participating in CAP’s Cadet Programs.
Troop 101 is located in Morganville, NJ. Our chartering organization is the Morganville United Methodist Church. We meet at the Church on Conover Road. The Troop was founded in 2011, the 101st year of Scouting! This is a boy run, boy led Boy Scout Troop and we strive to live up to the Purpose, Aims, and Methods of Boy Scouting. We camp at least one weekend every month and plan high adventure outings. We strongly encourage parent participation in our Troop Committee and our Camping Trips although parents are encouraged to allow the scouts to learn through their own successes and failures.
Troop 12 was established in 1933. The first in Lutz ("Rhymes with Bootz"), Troop 12 quickly made its name in the area. Today, led by Scoutmaster Matt Burnside, we continue this tradition by making an impact in the community. Through community events, ceremonies, and service projects, we work hard each year to better our Community, our Nation, and our World. In the end, we even better Ourselves. We are a Boy-Run Troop. This means everything that we do is planned and executed by "The Boys". We couldn't do it, however, without the help of the wonderful adult leaders. We meet every Tuesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, with campouts or day trips planned every month. Our Scout "Hut" is located off US Highway 41 near the junction with Lutz Lake Fern Road. If you are interested in joining or helping out, please don't be afraid to use the "Contact Us" page. We'll get a response to you as soon as possible. From all of the leaders, both Scout and Adult, we welcome you!
