At Trinity Road, we are committed to respect for all and believe that learning about and from religions will build respect. By learning about different religions, we aim to develop respect and understanding of the faith background of all. We believe that RE supports and strengthens our aims in every aspect of school life and our caring ethos and the value that we place on the development of the whole person, spiritually, morally, socially, culturally and intellectually is reflected in the RE curriculum. We aim for the pupils to acquire and develop knowledge an understanding of the principal world faiths practised in Great Britain. RE is not a nationally determined subject; we use the Essex Agreed Syllabus of Religious Education as the basis for our planning and delivery of lessons. Parents have the right to withdraw their children from RE by consultation with the Head teacher. Curriculum 2014 is covered across in each year group across a two year rolling programme.
