Treehouse Practice Information

At Treehouse Practice, we support children’s emotional wellbeing by looking beyond behaviour to understand what is happening underneath. Many children who are struggling with overwhelm, anxiety, shutdown, or challenging behaviours are communicating that their nervous system is finding things difficult to regulate. We work to understand these experiences in context, rather than focusing on behaviour in isolation. Our approach is relational, trauma sensitive, and grounded in an understanding of nervous system regulation. We place a strong emphasis on safety, connection, and co-regulation as the foundation for change. No two children or families are the same. Because of this, all of our work begins with a comprehensive assessment of the child, their experiences, and the wider systems around them, including family, school, and key relationships. From there, we design tailored interventions that may include direct therapeutic work with the child, parent–child relational sessions, sensory and regulation-focused support, and wider system consultation. Our goal is to support meaningful change that extends across the child’s everyday environments. We believe that lasting progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and supported in relationship, allowing regulation, connection, and development to unfold over time. Treehouse Practice works collaboratively with families and professionals to build practical, compassionate pathways forward for children who are struggling emotionally or behaviourally.
