TREC Renewable Energy Co-op Information

TREC is Canada’s leader in the development of community owned renewable energy. We support co-ops, Indigenous communities and social enterprises with our Community Member & Investment Services, and inform policy through our research and advocacy efforts. TREC offers co-op consulting and management services to growing community power groups ranging from co-op development to sales and marketing to member management and co-op administration. Our services draw from TREC's pioneer experience in developing three of our own co-ops (SolarShare, WindShare, LakeWind) and helping many more in the growing Ontario renewable energy co-op sector. We have key competencies in writing offering statements for renewable energy co-ops, developing business plans, evaluating financial products and planning and executing sales and marketing strategies. TREC also is a strong networker and capacity building in the renewable energy co-op space, fostering the development of the Federation of Community Energy Co-operatives to build a learning and education network for co-ops.
