Every human being is a treasure. And every treasure is unique. We all have our strengths, and we all have our challenges. For young people with developmental disabilities, those strengths and challenges can be difficult to balance. How can we make sure they grow to their full potential, while caring for their day-to-day needs? Welcome to Treasure House, a community of residences for young adults in their 20s and 30s with cognitive,intellectual or developmental disabilities — and the ability to grow and thrive and enjoy life. Our residents enjoy their own furnished, one-bedroom apartment with access to such amenities as a family style kitchen, lounge, game room, patio and backyard activities area. It’s designed to not just be a place to live, but to truly be a home. Treasure House is now fully complete and is welcoming its first residents. Each resident participates in their own selected vocational, educational or volunteer opportunities to help fuel their individual growth. And the Treasure House community is filled with opportunities to socialize and share recreation, friendship and daily living experiences. The goal is to create a unique, welcoming environment for our residents that helps them achieve their full potential while enjoying their own independence and personal growth.
