At Trashin, we are of the belief that carbon is the currency of the future & the world is transitioning to a sustainable lifestyle. We are solving one of the toughest supply chain problems in the world, 'WASTE"! We onboard verified waste collection partners on our app to provide an on-demand, doorstep waste pickup & recycling service; thereby simplifying sustainability for millions of Indians. In India currently only ~5% of waste is segregated & ~20% is processed while the rest is being dumped in landfills. Also, waste workers involved in collection & processing face social stigma as they are considered to be lower caste. There are more than a million informal waste workers in the country who do not have access to basic necessities and are working in an unsafe environment. Segregation of waste at source can transform the landscape for recycling in India. This will also reduce the hazards of working with mixed waste and improve working conditions for the waste workers apart from improving recycling rates manifold.
